1. Deal the cards
Each player gets 9 cards: 3 face-down, 3 face-up, and 3 in hand. Play from hand to face-up, to blind cards to win!
2. Match or surpass
On your turn, play a card equal to or higher than the top of the pile, or take the whole pile into your hand. Special cards can be played anytime.
3. Get rid of everything
Empty your hand first, then play your face-up table cards, then your face-down cards, blind. First player out wins. Last one standing loses.

Five friends from France, Norway, Texas, California, and Virginia - none of them card game people. Just killing time in the mountains of Norway.
We were playing a homemade mashup of Palace and Shithead. It was fun until it wasn't.
Too many house rules, too hard to explain, a normal deck just couldn't keep up.
So they threw it out and started fresh. No suits, no colors. Just numbers 1 through 10 and a handful of special cards built for chaos.
The first prototype was sketched in MS Paint at 5AM and printed on photo paper the next day.
It was immediately obvious they'd stumbled onto something.
They tried to "polish" it up at one point. People hated it.
So they doubled down on the doodled, DIY look, because that's what made it fun in the first place.
Thousands of rounds and countless bad name ideas later, Payback was born.
No phones, no screens. just five great guys (and their crazy Uncle Ronnie) turning friends and family into certified addicts, one round at a time.

They're splash proof but not fully water-proof. We would have to go full plastic and that's not very eco friendly.
